My Role

Hired to drive customer acquisition and revenue growth through strategic business development and account optimization. Tasked with expanding the company’s retail footprint by generating new accounts and establishing distribution channels. Managed the entire sales cycle: prospecting, engaging C-suite decision makers, overcoming objections, and providing outstanding account management.

Shelf space is a limited, highly competitive asset.

Retailers often require slotting fees, making it difficult for new brands to secure shelf space.

Low brand awareness led to slow sales and product removal from several stores.

Herbal Bliss lacked a dedicated marketing team and formal marketing plan.

Customers were unfamiliar with products despite sales success.

Expanded role to Head of Business Development & Marketing.

Redesigned the Herbal Bliss website and added e-commerce functionality to enable nationwide sales beyond shelf space constraints.

Results

Through strategic thinking and partnership development, I drove 1600% YOY sales growth and secured retail placement in 100+ stores, including Whole Foods and Bi-Lo. I established new distribution channels by partnering with an experienced food broker, enabling access to major regional chains, Ingles (~200 stores) and Harris Teeter (~250 stores) — a breakthrough for a new, unknown brand. I successfully led product placement negotiations that resulted in acceptance pending label revisions, overcoming significant market entry barriers despite internal ownership roadblocks. Concurrently, I overhauled marketing and digital assets, especially the website, boosting traffic by 442% and reducing bounce rate by 40%, supporting sustained growth and brand visibility.
