Herbal Bliss was a purveyor of premium, 100% all-natural teas and energy drinks. Featuring unique flavors such as Lemongrass, Jasmine, and Ginger Honey, all of Herbal Bliss’ beverages were made using only the finest ingredients, and contained no additives or preservatives.

My Role

Originally hired to drive customer and revenue growth through strategic business development and existing account optimization. Charged with growing the company’s retail footprint through new account generation and establishing new distribution channels. Oversaw all aspects of the sales cycle including: prospecting, meeting with C-Suite decision makers, addressing concerns and objections, and providing exceptional account management. Increased sales by 185% within 90 days.

Growth Constraints

Shelf space is an extremely limited, highly valued asset

Many brands pay slot fees for guaranteed shelf space at major retailers.

It's extremely difficult for new, unknown brands to procure shelf space.

New products must sell quickly or they are replaced with another option.

It takes time for new brands to build brand awareness

Low brand awareness can cause slow sales.

New brands must overcome this issue, or face product removal.

Herbal Bliss had no marketing team or marketing plan.

Customer's were unfamiliar with products due to lack of marketing.

Products were removed from several stores due to slow sales.

Successful Solutions

My role expanded to Head of Business Development & Marketing

Immediately created & implemented a strategic marketing plan.

Focused on building brand awareness, and creating marketing assets that positioned the beverages as a premium brand.

Redesigned HB website, added e-commerce functionality

Created distribution channel that was not subject to shelf space.

Allowed customers to purchase beverages directly from HB.

Launched Social Media accounts to build brand awareness and increase brand visibility.

Ensured brand message was consistent across all channels.

Results

The new website was extremeluy successful. Within 90 days metrics were up accross the board. Additionally, there was a huge boost to Mamma Brown's catering business. Catering became so successful she decided to close the restaurant and cater full time 6 months later.

Secondary Logos

Herbal Bliss teas and energy drinks had seperate logos, and the tea logo was often unusable due to its aspect ratio. Secondary logos are similar to each primary logo, but can be used to represent both products. Logos feature a simplified design & more friendly aspect ratios.

The new website included the latest specials, social media interaction, an about page focused on homegrown, farm to table veggies, and a page devoted solely to catering.

The website had two primary goals:

  • Promote the catering business and allow customers to book directly through the website.
  • Become the primary source of communication and information hub once the physical restaurant closed.
