Mamma Brown's BBQ

Founded in 1995 in Mt. Pleasant, SC, Mamma Browns BBQ quickly earned a loyal following with its delicious whole hog BBQ and fresh, homegrown sides. For nearly 30 years, it has operated a thriving restaurant and catering business in a highly competitive market.
My Role
In the fiercely competitive restaurant industry, ongoing innovation and delivering unmatched customer value are essential. With shifting customer preferences favoring elevated BBQ experiences, full bars, and entertainment options, Mamma Browns needed to reposition itself for long-term success. I was brought in to develop and execute a strategic repositioning plan focused on transitioning the business towards catering while maintaining its strong local presence.

Marketing Collateral
Logo Creation
Mamma Brown’s BBQ lacked an official logo, relying on a generic wordmark in all advertising. I designed several distinctive logo options to strengthen brand identity and boost awareness.
The centerpiece features a vibrant, eye-catching pig symbolizing the restaurant’s signature whole-hog BBQ.
Each logo also incorporated the restaurant’s location and years in business to emphasize heritage and local roots.

Catering specific collateral
To highlight Mamma Brown’s diverse catering options beyond barbecue—such as oyster roasts and Lowcountry boils—I created updated marketing collateral. The new business cards featured a refreshed logo emphasizing Southern cuisine rather than solely Carolina BBQ, ensuring potential customers understood the full range of offerings.
