While watching a cooking competition, I saw a contestant cooking amazing food in a metal drum, which I had never seen before. Intrigued, and tired of spending hundreds of dollars on cheap, inefficient grills, I decided to strap on my tool belt and make a better version of what I saw on TV. It ended up being the best cooker I ever owned! The cooker could be used as grill, a smoker and a steamer. In addition to being very versatile, it was extremely efficient, and the unique design caught the attention of everyone who saw it. Shortly after building my cooker, my friends starting asking me if I could make them one. When their friends started calling, I knew it was time to monetize the concept. Soon thereafter, I was building 3 types of cookers and selling them across the Southeast.

My Role

I built the entire business from the ground up. I was responsible for the leadership, strategic development, and growth of the business. In addition to designing and manufacturing the cookers, I also oversaw branding, marketing, and sales activities. I created marketing and promotional collateral; built brand awareness through digital, traditional, and event marketing; and drove business development.

The Fan Collection

.Our pits are perfect for the big game or tailgate, and our Fan Collection Pits are the perfect way to show your team spirit. We stripe our traditional pits with your favorite team's colors, and then add a plate holder for your favorite swag. Logos ccould be painted directly on the pit for teams, clubs, and organizations who had authorized permission.

Traditional Pits came in either satin black or gunmetal grey, with either matching or contrasting pipes.

I created a wordmark logo that featured a palmetto tree in the capital P, I also created a pictorial mark featuring only the capital P from the primary logo that could easily be painted on each pit.
